ServerVault Earns SysTrust™ Distinction Again
Managed hosting firm’s focus on security and availability earns critical certification from Deloitte & Touche LLP
Dulles, VA, U.S.A. – December 6, 2006 -- ServerVault Corp. (www.servervault.com), a provider of highly secure, reliable and compliant hosting and IT infrastructure management services for high-value commercial and government applications, today announced the successful completion of an independent SysTrustTM evaluation of its network and service-delivery platform by Deloitte & Touche LLP. This attestation follows on the previous year’s certification and adds to several others that ServerVault has successfully completed, including the recurring certification from Cybertrust.
The SysTrust examination report, issued under guidance established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and by the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA), measures a service provider's systems based on pre-established principles and criteria. A SysTrust assurance examination must be performed by a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
"ServerVault understands that IT system owners and executives in business and government today demand not only uncompromising security and reliability, but also the ability to demonstrate compliance with key regulatory requirements and standards such as FISMA and NIST 800-53, DITSCAP, SCIF, Sarbanes-Oxley and HIPAA,” said John Kraft, President and Chief Executive Officer of ServerVault. "Our customers can rely on ServerVault’s SysTrust designation as further confirmation that the company meets or exceeds the existing standards for security and availability and that we do so in a clear, predictable and auditable fashion.”
DELOITTE & TOUCHE LLP ENGAGED AS THE SYSTRUST INDEPENDENT ACCOUNTANT
Only providers who are able to demonstrate effective levels of control over their systems to an independent accountant can achieve the SysTrust designation. As part of its serious commitment to protect customer information and provide uninterrupted availability of the ServerVault network and service-delivery platform, ServerVault engaged Deloitte & Touche LLP as the independent accountant to perform an evaluation of its adherence to the SysTrust principles of availability and security. Under the SysTrust standard, the independent accountant tests controls that provide for continuous system availability throughout the examination period and protection against unauthorized physical and logical access to data. Deloitte & Touche LLP issued the SysTrust report on ServerVault’s assertions that it maintained effective controls over the availability and security of ServerVault’s network and service-delivery platform during the examination.
SERVERVAULT’S CYBERTRUST CERTIFICATION
Another of ServerVault’s key certifications, the Cybertrust Service Provider Certification, is an industry-recognized information security certification program. To earn this distinction, ServerVault undergoes ongoing critical analysis and assessments of specific information security practices, assets and locations, which proves to our customers, partners and auditors that our mission-critical business systems, networks, applications and physical environments are protected against major threats.
