John F. Kraft
President and CEO
John has been President and CEO of ServerVault since 2003. In this capacity, he sets the direction and vision for the company and has overall responsibility for the strategy, profitability, operations and market success of ServerVault.
John brings to ServerVault more than 25 years of U.S. and international experience working in executive positions for some of the world’s largest and most demanding communications infrastucture firms, including most recently PSINet, where he was President and COO of the company's $700 million U.S. subsidiary. While at PSINet John had overall responsibility for divisions including Internet Connectivity, Web Hosting and Professional Services. John's accomplishments during his six-year tenure at PSINet, included the creation of PSINet's Carrier and ISP division, where he oversaw revenue growth from zero to $100 million in four years.
Prior to PSINet, John held a series of executive positions in sales with MCI Communications. During John's ten-year stint at MCI, the company was achieving consistent annual revenue growth in excess of 15% - 20% and capturing hundreds of millions of dollars in market share at the expense of AT&T and other carriers.
John currently serves on the board of ServerVault Corp. and numerous advisory boards. He is also active in a number of business organizations and charitable causes in the Northern Virginia area.
John Curran
Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer
John Curran joined ServerVault in 2004, and is responsible for engineering, operations, and security activities at ServerVault.
Prior to ServerVault John was with XO Communications, where he served as Chief Technology Officer and was integral in leading the organization’s technical initiatives, network architecture, and design of leading-edge capabilities built into the company’s nationwide network. In that time, Curran developed and led the company’s Internet and data strategy resulting in data revenue growth to over $500M annually.
Prior to joining XO Communications, Curran served as Chief Technical Officer at BBN / GTE Internetworking where he was responsible for the organizations strategic technology direction. Curran led BBN’s technical evolution into one of the earliest Internet Service Providers and through its subsequent acquisition by GTE.
John is a recognized expert and accomplished speaker on Internet and telecommunications topics and has been an active participant in the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), where he served as co-director of the Operations and Network Management area and member of IPng (IPv6) directorate. He is also active in numerous Internet industry forums and currently serves as the Chairman of the American Registry of Internet Numbers (ARIN).
Charles A. Crew
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Charlie joined ServerVault in January 2007 and leads all financial and administrative functions for the company, including financial planning and control, investor relations, corporate governance, human resources, and legal matters.
Charlie brings to ServerVault more than 30 years of management experience in a broad variety of executive and operating roles with both publicly traded and privately-held companies, including managing divisions for Fortune 100 companies. Most recently he served as executive vice president and CFO with IPIX Corp.(NASDAQ: IPIXQ), where he engineered $20 million in private equity financing, developed accounting and reporting systems to achieve SOX compliance, and negotiated prime contractor terms with a large federal agency.
Previously, with Cigital Inc., Group 1 Software (acquired by Pitney-Bowes, NYSE: PBI), and Penta Systems International, Charlie held CFO and executive VP-level positions in which he conducted strategic planning, directed numerous mergers and acquisitions, established financial controls, arranged financing and managed international organizations. Additionally, as a Financial Officer and Director of several publicly traded companies, his background includes SEC, Wall Street, banking, board level corporate governance, and communications experience.
Charlie holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Baltimore, a Masters degree with concentrations in Finance and Marketing from Loyola College and is a certified public accountant.
Seth J. Finkel
Senior Vice President, Managed Services
Seth directs all sales, sales engineering, marketing, product and business development efforts for ServerVault, including new customer acquisition, account management, channel and partner development, and other activities pertaining to product development/marketing, revenue generation and retention.
An executive with more than 15 years of experience in technology and telecommunications companies, Seth has proven expertise in managing sales and related business areas in organizations from start-up, growth, turnaround, and restructuring.
Before ServerVault, Seth spent four years at PSINet as a key executive within the its global Web hosting business. He helped grow the business unit from infancy to a multi-national presence and $100M+ annual revenue. Seth served in a series of increasingly responsible positions at PSINet culminating in a role as President of U.S. Sales.
Seth also worked for MCI within its Internet Solutions Center and as a consultant for American Management Systems (now CGI). Seth graduated Cum Laude and holds dual degrees from the University of Pittsburgh in Business and English Writing.
Richard L. Bates
Vice President, Operations
Rich is responsible for implementing customer solutions and managing those solutions throughout their life cycle. He brings over 20 years of experience to ServerVault with a background that spans all facets of the IT industry, including hardware support, programming, and web design in corporate, government, and entrepreneurial capacities.
Before ServerVault, Rich owned and managed his own web development firm. Prior to that he was a member of AT&T Solution's Knowledge Management & Intranet Development team. Before AT&T, Rich played a key role in creating the consolidated Network Support Office for the Chief of Naval Operations, Department of the Navy Headquarters. Rich also gained government experience by supporting several initiatives within the Defense Intelligence Agency, The Naval Oceanographic Office, and the Aegis Shipbuilding Program. Rich started out in a family business providing consulting service to the National Security Agency.
Rich holds both undergraduate and graduate degrees from George Washington University: a Masters of Science degree in Information Systems and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Information.
Michael G. Clemson
Vice President, Facilities & Logistics
Mike is responsible for all aspects of ServerVault’s mission critical facilities and logistics management, including delivering 100% infrastructure uptime to customers and operating ServerVault’s data center environments.
Before ServerVault, Mike ran one of the largest data and operating centers in the southwestern U.S. for Bank of America with over 5 acres of raised floor environments and an additional half million square feet of operating environments. He helped develop industry standards for maintaining and operating Tier IV data centers. Clemson has over 12 years of facilities management experience and has delivered over 2,700 continuous days of uptime to data centers under his control.
In addition to running data centers, Mike has been responsible for facility portfolios in excess of 100 properties and over 3.5 million square feet. He has an undergraduate degree from The College of William and Mary and MBA from Pepperdine University.
