ServerVault's John Curran Featured in IPv6 Panel Discussion at Spring '08 VONx
As part of the Spring 2008 VONx Conference in San Jose, CA., ServerVault Chief Technology Officer and Chief Operating Officer John Curran participated in an important panel discussion entitled, "End of Life for IPv4 - Time for IPv6."
By virtue of his role with ServerVault and previous leadership positions at BBN/GTE and XO Communications, and as a founding member of the Board of Trustees of the American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN), Curran is widely recognized as a leading expert in IP architecture and networking, including IPv6.
According to Pulvermedia, who produced the Spring '08 VONx Conference with NTT America, "It is predicted that by the year 2012 we will have exhausted all
available IP addresses. The current address pool, commonly referred to as IPv4, needs a plan to migrate to a new numbering scheme to accommodate the flood of new devices vying for IP addresses and for the sake of service continuity. This panel explains why we have this problem, how it can impact us, and how some companies have already successfully moved to make the transition."
